Why is my russian tortoise, banging on the glass all nite?

I have a Russian tortoise, and i bought him at pet co. My question is that she is up all night banging on the glass. i have a basking area for her which she loves. I’m just woundering if this is normal for a russian Tortoise or if something is wrong with her.

tortoises do not do well in glass tanks at all – they are pretty active animals, and as long as she can see where she wants to go, she will try to get there.
i suggest building or getting yourself a tortoise table – they really are the best thing for tortoises, but for now to stop her you can put some opaque paper or something like that around the bottom half of the tank so she cant see out
