Threshold betwen bathroom and bedroom?

I just remodeled my bathroom and my husband got a stroke. SInce bathroom floor is higher than bedroom floor, there is a threshold between these 2 rooms, however, it is very hard for him to get into the bathroom with wheelchair. He can get in easily if he goes backward with wheelchair, but we need him to go forward because the set up for the shower, there is no room for him to turn around his wheelchair after he gets into this bathroom. Anyone has a good solution that we don’t have to remodel our bathroom again? Help !!

I’m guessing that the height difference between the two rooms is going to be roughly 3/8″, which is the thickness of most residential tile. You can have a flooring subcontractor “feather” the subfloor, meaning add a sort of a ramp out of concrete that takes up that subtle difference between the two floors. When they work with concrete, they can feather the concrete out in all directions so that no matter how you approach the transition you are on a slope. You’ll see this often in commercial buildings if you look for it. It is not noticible, and carpet is installed right on top of it.
